Star Shaped Journal and Sale in my Shop

I listed this star shaped journal recently. I made it for the NASA Space Craft Contest on Etsy. I like playing with unique shapes in journals and I thought a star shaped journal would fit the space theme. It didn't get picked as a semi finalist, but it was fun to make anyway.

I'm trying to get ready for the holiday season. Etsy has lots of tips and ideas on their blog. I also have a few holiday items I'm going to list and I'm thinking of making 2011 calendars/planners. I don't sell a whole lot, but usually I sell a few more items than usual during the winter holiday season. Do you buy/sell a lot during the holiday season?

Versatile Blogger Award

I got an award for my blog by Little Gray Fox. I'm supposed to share 7 random things about myself.



1. Hippos are my favorite exotic animal. I always liked them growing up. Besides the actual animal, I love stuffed hippos, hippo cartoons, etc.

2. I love to cook. I'm a vegetarian so I'm always looking for new recipes. I like baking desserts too. You can see some things I've made on my 365 Project where I'm taking a photo of a meal every day for a year.

3. I love taking baths and trying different soaps and bath things, especially handmade ones.

4. I like trying different types of workouts. Recently I've been in to pilates. I do a core challenge DVD by Ana Caban. It's the second DVD I have by her. It's great for your abs and makes me feel really good.

5. Besides creating art, I love to write short stories and poetry. I hope to publish a book one day.

6. I love traveling. I went to Italy a few years ago and I want to go to Paris and India someday.

7. I started journaling because of my Etsy shop. I didn't really journal before that, but making journals led me to start an art journal. I discovered you don't have to use journaling just for writing.

Autumn Greeting Card and Etsy Teams

I've also been working on some new items, like a mini heart journal and some more greeting cards. I can't wait to get them listed. I'm trying to renew all my old stuff before listing new items.

By the way, I love the new teams section on Etsy. Teams can now have discussions and announce stuff on the official Etsy teams page. I think it's a great new feature because I'm in a lot of teams and it's a lot easier to access them through the Etsy site than through a variety of other sites. Are you involved in any teams?
