Back to School Sale

There are a lot of items in my shop that are great for back to school time. I start school at the end of August and I always like to keep journals and planners to stay organized. Here are some items I think are good for the school year:

Altered Octopus Spiral Journal
This altered spiral notebook is perfect for your journaling needs. It has blank unlined paper inside so you can use it for writing or drawing.

Laundry List Sticky Note Pad
This journal has checklists that you can tear off. I made one of these journals for myself and I'm using it a lot right now. It helps me keep track of things I need to do and it's small enough to carry around in your purse.

Gold and Green Leaf Altered Large Moleskine 2011 Planner
If you don't have a planner yet for 2011, this altered moleskine is great to keep organized from day to day and would be good for writing down school assignments. I also make custom planners for 2011 and 2012.

Green Damask 2011 Calendar
Calendars are great for writing down big events and giving you an overview of each month. This 2011 calendar is now on sale.

Roses are Red Box
This box is great for holding small items like paper clips, pencils and other small supplies on your desk. The divider makes it so you can organize items.

I made a coupon code so you can get free shipping on any purchase in my shop if you enter the coupon code "SCHOOL" at checkout. What items do you get for back to school?

Also, from November 28th (Black Friday) through December 1st (Cyber Monday) if you enter the code "HOLIDAY" at checkout, there will be 25% your entire order. You can also get your item(s) gift wrapped for free if you let me know. Do you usually shop for Black Friday/Cyber Monday?

Star Shaped Journal and Sale in my Shop

I listed this star shaped journal recently. I made it for the NASA Space Craft Contest on Etsy. I like playing with unique shapes in journals and I thought a star shaped journal would fit the space theme. It didn't get picked as a semi finalist, but it was fun to make anyway.

Green Iridesence

I've made a heart, star, pumpkin and snowflake (the pumpkin and snowflake ones are up for sale in my shop, but the heart one sold list year). Can you think of any shapes or items you'd like to see me make a journals inspired by?

Also, November 28th (Black Friday) through December 1st (Cyber Monday), I'm having a sale in my shop. There will be 25% off all items. You can also have your item gift wrapped for free.

Another Sale

I made another sale! I can't believe I got 3 in a row since I was selling nothing for months. I'm really excited. I sold the Little Golden Tree Bark Address Book:

In other news, I still have more updates about things I did while I was in New York City this summer. Unfortunately, my computer isn't working again so I have to wait until I get it working again to get the photos I wanted to post. I'm back at college now in Pennsylvania. I'm excited about the new year. It's my senior year and I'm taking a lot of art classes so it should be fun and will give me a chance to create a lot of new art.

Postcards from Europe Journal Sale

I just got another sale on Etsy! I'm so excited, I had to blog about it right away. I went for months without selling anything and I just sold two items this week. :) I sold the Postcards from Europe Coptic Stitch Journal which is one of my favorites.

I actually have this journal with me in New York. I have most of my journals at home in Chicago, but I took a few items with me in case I saw any stores in New York. There's this really cute cafe right by my apartment that has a bunch of crafty items. I gave the owner there my card. She hasn't contacted me yet, but she might be interested in putting a few of my items in their store.

Christmas in July!

I am participating in Etsy's Christmas in July sale. There is free shipping on all items. Also, all the holiday items in my Christmas in July section are half off. I usually don't put my holiday items up until fall so this is a good chance to buy them for a reduced price. The sale runs from July 15th - July 25th. I'm including a couple Thanksgiving/Halloween themed cards too. Here are some of the items:

Holiday Penguins Greeting Card

Holiday Reindeer Greeting Card

Pumpkin Carriage Shimmer Greeting Card

Dark Blue Paisley Hanukkah Star Greeting Card

Snowflake Shaped Journal

Anybody else doing the Christmas in July sale? Also, remember my giveaway (two posts down) is still going on until tomorrow so you have a chance to get any greeting card in my shop for free!

EtsyVeg Challenge, 4th of July Items and Sale

I'm in EtsyVeg's monthly challenge this month. The theme is "May Flowers" and the winning entry gets to be featured in an ad on the EtsyVeg blog for a month. I've entered their challenges a lot, but I haven't won one yet. You'd do me a favor if you voted for my Yellow Flower Thank You Card here.

Thanks for any votes! If you really want to help me out, you can tweet or blog about it too. :)

I renewed some greeting cards for Fourth of July. I had these up last year, but I'm just putting them up again for this year.

Fourth of July Tissue Paper Greeting Card

Fourth of July American Flag Greeting Card

Also, I'm having a sale in my shop this month. Since June 4th was my second anniversary, you can get 10% off any order if you enter the code "ANNIVERSARY" in the message to seller box at checkout.

New Cards & Sale

Yay, I made a sale! I sold this Book Lover's Greeting Card. I'm really happy I made a sale during the holiday season. Even though I sold some journals the past few months from craft shows/shops, this is my first sale on Etsy since August.

I listed a bunch of new cards.

Rounded Winter Cardinal Holiday Greeting Card

Rounded Eight Nights Hanukkah Card

Black Christmas Greeting Card

Collage Christmas Greeting Card

I also listed some new Thanksgiving cards. Since Thanksgiving is over, they're on sale for half off.

Pumpkin and Vines Thanksgiving Greeting Card (Version II)

Thanksgiving Tomatoes Card

The Ten Percent to Charity Promo with EtsyVeg is over. I didn't make any sales, but I decided to donate $5 to the Food Not Bombs charity anyway. Remember, you can still vote for Pumpkin and Vines Greeting Card on the EtsyVeg blog.

My mom got me this cute handmade necklace for my birthday that has a bird and a bow in gold. It just arrived in the mail though and I got it today. It's so pretty. :) I don't have a photo of it, but it's from this site. I might take a photo of it later.

I have my last day of classes tomorrow. I'm happy to be over with classes for a while. I've had to write four papers and I have two finals (and one take home). I'm going to be home in about a week though.

Black Friday!

Happy Black Friday! You can get 20% off all items in my shop through Monday if you enter the code "HOLIDAY" at checkout. My twitter contest to promote the sale hasn't had a lot of success. I got 4 retweets, but I need to get 50 for it to work. I might cancel it or extend it.

I listed this new journal. I've been meaning to list it for a while. I made it this summer. I love the paper I used:

Postcards from Europe Coptic Stitch Journal

You might have noticed I added a new feature to my blog. In every entry, you'll see 3 recommended older entries that relate to the new post. I thought it seemed like an interesting feature. Tell me what you think – if you like it, if you use it, if you think it looks nice or too distracting, etc. I kind of like how it looks and I think it will be helpful to get people to look at other entries. I wish there was a way to set it up so I get an email when people comment on an entry though (so I know if somebody comments on an older entry). I'm sure there's some way to do this, but I haven't figured it out. I've also noticed I've gotten a lot of spam comments lately (like one entry I have 20+ comments of spam). I'm not sure how to stop these. :(

I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I got to see my brother and it was nice to see him again. We celebrated his birthday and Thanksgiving together. I also watched the movie Julie & Julia. It's about a woman who attempts to cook every recipe in Julia Child's cookbook written in the 1960s and write a blog about it. I love food/cooking and blogging so it was fun to watch (I thought of this blog when they showed the blogging parts). I thought the movie was good. You can see the real blog she wrote here It's interesting how nowadays, people can become famous through their blogs. I'm actually inspired to start a cooking type project (not related to this blog though). I'll post about it if I decide to do it.

Halloween Sale & Items

Happy (early) Halloween! What are you being for Halloween? Remember, there is a sale in my shop from October 30th (tomorrow) until November 1st. The event is part of the EtsyVeg team and you get 20% off any item from my Autumn and Halloween Section and/or a free greeting card on Halloween day! More details in my shop announcement. I hope this will help get me a sale (or two).

I thought I'd post some etsy inspired Halloween ideas. I guess it's too late to buy them, but they're fun to look at (or use for non Halloween events).

Bear Mask

I love this bear mask. It's cute and creative. It'd also be really easy to make a costume out of if you just wore a brown outfit or brown sweatpants and a t-shirt.

Mouse Ears with Pink or Red Bow

This shop offers a full costume, but if you need something more afforable, I love these Minnie Mouse ears. They're simple, but work as a costume.

I also thought I'd share this painting/print by Willowing:

I don't know what I'm going to be. I have a mask from Venice so I might do something with that. I might just wear a dress and the mask and be sort of dressed up. Tell me if you have any ideas!

In other news, I'm working on making some calendars right now. I figured out a design, but I'm just having trouble thinking of how to put it all together. I want to have a hook on it so people are able to hang it. I also found out at least one of items sold at the Market House. It's good that something is selling there because last time I went, nothing sold and I was worried it wouldn't do well.

Kickoff to Fall Sale

I'm having a sale in my shop all this week - Monday, September 7th through Friday, September 11th, as part of the EtsyVeg team's "Kick off to Fall" event to celebrate the start of Autumn and end of summer. The “Kick off to Fall" happens through Sunday for all EtsyVeg members so checkout the EtsyVeg blog to see what other specials members are having. Many products are vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly.

How it works is in my shop is each day, a certain color of items will be on sale for 10% off. The different colors are supposed to represent the leaves changing colors. The schedule of colors on sale is:

Monday - Green
Tuesday - Yellow
Wednesday - Orange
Thursday - Red
Friday - Brown

So you're clear what items are on sale, there will be a new section each day (the first section in my shop) showing what items are on sale titled "Fall Sale (Color)". You don't have to enter anything at check out. I will send you a revised invoice with the sale price after you buy.

Hopefully this will encourage sales, but I also am doing it because it sounded like fun and I love the idea of having different colors on sale. Please check out my shop and help promote the sale.

Here's a list of all the members in the EtsyVeg team having a sale as part of this event:

Vegetarian Sale, Card & House

There's going to be a sale in my shop this week as part of the EtsyVeg Team. Each day, a new color of items will be on sale. Go to my shop for details. I'll have a longer entry about it in my blog tomorrow.

I listed this new card that's cow themed:

Cow Lovers' Greeting Card

Since it kind of fits with the vegetarian theme, I thought I'd show some photos from college and house on campus. I live in a Special Interest House near campus this year with three other girls and our theme is the "Vegetarian House". The special interest house just means the house has to have some name and focus. We're going to have special vegetarian dinners during the year and other events like that.

Edit: Sorry some of the photos might looked cut off. That's just because of the layout of my blog.

This is my room. There were only 3 bedrooms in the house so we made a 4th one that was originally a living room/dining room in to my room. It doesn't have any doors so I put these blue curtains up.

Here's the other side of the room with my drawers. I don't have a closet in here, but there's a lot of drawers, which is nice.

I put up the sweater painting I won in a giveaway right over the drawers where my clothes are. It's right by my mini sewing machine and these wooden cut outs that spell out my name that I've had for a while (I can't even remember where I got them).

I made a collage out of some of my photos from Italy. I picked up an application today for an art show downtown. I was thinking of submitting some of my photos from Italy for it.

I have two band posters up that are both autographed. I collect a bunch of autographed items, but I don't usually display them so I wanted to hang some up in my room.

I also bought a poster of a Monet painting on sale in the Campus Center. It's funny because I'm learning about Monet in an art history class, but I didn't know that until after I got the poster.

I also have this table with a crocheted banana I won in a giveaway, a cat photo frame with a picture of my cat in it and a plant I got which is supposed to bloom flowers right next to my bed.

My room's not completely finished - like I'm still planning to put a mirror somewhere and a bulletin board up, but I like how it looks.

This is the kitchen, in black and white. It's so nice to have a kitchen at college.

There's a brick oven in our backyard. Our house has a lot of quirks like that.

Our backyard is really beautiful. We have a porch out there and our yard is really big - bigger than my yard at home.

We're not technically supposed to have pets, but one of my housemate's brought her two cats and bunny.

This is a cat from the neighborhood that sometimes comes to visit us.
