New Items and Italy

I will be traveling to Italy from May 14th - June 4th. I'm going to keep my shop open during that time and have my mom take care of orders. You probably won't see my blog/twitter updated though. I also won't be able to answer any questions or be able to do custom orders during that time. I don't get a lot of orders so I don't think it'll be any problem, but it'd be nice to see I got new orders when I get back.

We have to bring a journal with us to Italy (it's a school trip). So I figured I'd decorate the moleskine I bought with a map of Italy. For some reason, I'm not sure where I put it right now (hopefully I'll find it soon), but here's an in the process photo:

I think it'd also be nice to just decorate moleskines like that in the future. I worked on a lot of new items this week. I made a bunch of new cards and about 5 new journals. I really like how they all turned out. I got a few up sofar:

Leopard Print Journal

The fabric for this is leopard print and it's soft so it's a lot of fun to touch. I use to really like leopard print things when I was younger (I think when it was more popular) so I get excited when I see leopard print things. I always wanted to make a leopard print journal and I thought this fabric was perfect.

This Little Piggy Journal

This is based on the This Little Piggy Box.

Crayon Hearts Thank You Greeting Card

I bought a set of multicolored crayons off etsy and I was playing around with them when I made this card. The hearts are drawn with the crayons.

I also contacted a few shops about putting my items in their shop. I got an email back from one local one saying they're shop closed down. Hopefully, I'll hear back from more places though and maybe be abl eto do some craft shows this summer.

Home.

I'm out of school and at home for a week before I go to Italy (I'm so excited!) I started working on some new projects. I wasn't really planning on doing a lot of etsy stuff when I got home, but I got inspired and made a bunch of cards. I did some pretty nice ones with tissue paper and some for 4th of July. It'll be nice to get some new listings up since I haven't in a while. I also got some ideas for some journals. I have an extra Death Cab for Cutie shirt and I was thinking about making a journal out of the fabric from it. I just have to check if I can sell it though since it's a band name.

I got the sale I made sent out today. I also had some items on ebay I had to send out. The Mini Indian Print Journal I sold was also featured in this treasury:

I went through all my old fabric and organized it. It's nice to go through stuff and just get rid of things you don't need to make room for new things. I also found a bunch of tools I thought were missing.

There's a photo project I'm doing on my flickr called Thirty Clicks where there is a different theme each month. It's kind of like the 365 project except it's monthly and has a theme. This month's theme is reflection so I'm trying to find creative ways to capture reflection. I also plan to keep it going through May when I'm in Italy. Here's some photos sofar:

If you have any creative ideas for reflections, let me know.

Just a reminder, there's a Mother's Day sale in my shop from . You can get 10% off all items if you enter "MOTHER" in the message to seller box at checkout.

Mother's Day

I thought I'd share some items that would be good to buy for Mother's Day (Which is May 10th this year). There is a 10% sale in my shop from May 5th-May 10th. It seems like I've had a lot of sales lately, but I guess that's okay. :)

Iridescent Blue Photo Frame

This frame is perfect for your mom to put a favorite photo in or for you to put a photo of you and your mother in.

Laundry List Sticky Note Pad

Whether it's for shopping, things she has to do around the house, things she has to do for work, etc., a journal with blank to-do list sticky notes can always come in handy.

Cupcake Desserts Cookbook

This is perfect for the mother who likes to cook (especially sweets). I gave my mom a cookbook for Christmas.

Love Deeply Inspiring Quote Greeting Card (Pink Version)

I didn't have time to make new Mother's Day card, but there are some greeting cards in my shop with general inspiring quotes that could make great gifts. This card has the quote, "To love deeply in one direction makes us more loving in all others."

I think I already know something I can give my mom. It's something I made for a class (I can't reveal what it is yet because my mom reads my blog sometimes, haha). Last year I tried making a handmade card that had seeds in it (so you could plant it afterwards). I can't remember if the seeds actually worked, but it was a fun idea to try. Mother's Day is a good holiday to give handcrafted things because they're a little more personal.

I made a new poll on this blog. I think I might do a poll from time to time. This one just asks if you keep a journal. I started journaling a lot more last year and I have kept 3 journals this year. I don't have a journal right now and I'm not sure when I'll start a new one (even though there is one journal I'm using for a class that I'm going to continue to keep) so it just made me curious if people keep journals.

I have my last final tonight (which is weird, I've never had a final on a Saturday night before). It doesn't really feel like a weekend to me now, but after that, I'll be completely done with classes. I'm excited to get out for the summer. :)
