Halloween Costume Ideas

Here are some costume ideas for Halloween. I wrote these articles on the website Squidoo. Click on the link to see the full tutorial on how to get the costume.

Skeleton or Sugar Skull Costume

A skeleton costume can be scary or you can make it prettier by being a sugar skull (pictured above). Use face paint or makeup to do a skeleton look on your face. Wear a skeleton costume or black and white clothes.

Peacock Costume

A peacock costume is beautiful and lets you be glamorous. Stick to turquoise, blue, gold and brown colors. If you don't want to buy a peacock costume, you can use a turquoise dress you already have and add peacock feathers to it. There are a lot of peacock accessories you can find such as peacock fans and masks. For makeup, you can use peacock false eye lashes or just dramatic lashes and turquoise and gold makeup.

Dorothy (Wizard of Oz)

Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz is a fun character costume to be. Dorothy wears a blue and white checkered dress over a plain white shirt and glitter, ruby shoes. You can either buy a Dorothy costume or make one yourself. For makeup, use neutral colors and a bright red lip. Put your hair in pigtails or braids with blue ribbons. You can be creative with your nails and make them match Dorothy's outfit like in the photo.

Pumpkin/Jack-O-Lantern

You could be something classic like a pumpkin/jack-o-lantern. Wear an orange outfit or a pumpkin costume. You could wear orange and black makeup or use face paint like in the photo above to look like an actual jack-o-lantern. Paint jack-o-lanterns on your nails or use orange nail polish.
