Treasury East

I was looking through Craftpolis today and I thought I'd share some treasuries I've been in recently. These are all from Treasury East, which I haven't tried myself yet:

Postcards Crossing Project

This treasury has a theme of postcards and Postcrossing (I've never done Postcrossing, but I've wanted to try it). My postcard journal is featured in the second row. You can view here.

Raindrops on Roses...

My Zebra card is featured in the top row of this pretty black and white treasury.

May Flowers

This is an EtsyVeg team treasury with a theme of May Flowers. My yellow flower greeting card is featured in the bottom row.

Rise and Shine

My yellow flower card is also featured in this bright treasury.

You can see all the treasuries I've been featured on on my Flickr page.

New Card and Updates

I got a new laptop. I'm still waiting for a new hard drive for it (because I have so many files so I wanted to get a bigger hard drive) and I don't have my photo/Etsy files on my computer yet, but I got this greeting card listed. I made it a few weeks ago:

Pink Lace Keyboard Fabric Card

I was out of glue so I decided to stitch around the card instead of gluing it. I like how it turned out and it was fun to do. The fabric is Japanese.

I feel like I haven't been on Etsy as much lately because I just noticed some of the changes/layout changes that have been happening. I've been really busy looking for internships this summer. There's a couple art galleries in New York I'm looking at. There's also an animal rights company I might volunteer/intern for. If you know any art galleries in New York and/or Chicago that are looking for interns, feel free to let me know. :) Also, if you know any good craft shops/boutiques in NYC where I might be able to put my items (or just visit), let me know.

Journal Pages

I bought some new decorative paper and glue and I've been working on some new items. I really like how they're turning out. I feel like I haven't added new items in a while, but I don't want to post them right away until some items expire/sell. Some people say you should have a lot of items in your shop, but I've also heard having too many can be overwhelming for viewers and you should only post your best. What do you think?

I thought I'd share some art pages from my journal. I've been using this Yellow and Blue Belle Journal (a version of it is up for sale in my Etsy shop):

Places I Want to Travel List

Things to Remember...

Can You Still Feel the Butterflies?

Time to Breathe

Minnie Mouse and Peace

Years of the Tiger

Do you keep a journal? What kind of things do you write/draw/whatever in it? Also, make sure to check out my other craft blog on tumblr where I post things I get inspiration from.

Oversized Travel Journal Project

I talked about my Junior Seminar art project/show in my last entry. Here are photos of my project. I made a large oversized journal with places I want to travel to inside. Each painting has the official national animal of each country I want to travel to. The paintings are acrylic medium, but also used mixed media such as vintage maps, string, bubble wrap and fabric.

The covers of the journal form a full map of the world when opened up. The land parts are collaged with maps from various places.

I actually didn't originally plan to make a journal, but I ended up binding all my paintings together. I ended up doing a simple cross stitch with white string. It wasn't too hard to bind it, but it took a while because of how big it is.

The front side of the pages is a painting of an animal in a landscape. The back side has collaged maps and other things of the place each page represents. Here's the first page, a white tailed deer from Costa Rica:

And the back:

This is a fox from London. I used a watch as the nose of the fox to represent the famous clock in London and the fast paced life of people who live there:

Sorry I don't have photos of the backs of all the paintings. Let me know what you think of my project. Hopefully, I'll get to travel to these places one day!

College Art Show

Sorry I haven't updated for a while. My laptop broke and I had to buy a new one. I also have finals at my college so I haven't had time to do a lot of Etsy related things. I wanted to share an art project I made for school though.

I'm a Junior in college and in art major and we have to do a Junior Seminar project our junior year. I made an oversized journal with mixed media paintings inside. I'm going to post more details photos of my actual project in a separate entry once I go through all the photos. I took some photos of the art show opening though and thought I'd share them. It was fun to see everyone's artwork up, especially since I knew most of the people and saw them working in the process of their artwork.

This is a sign we made (really quickly) for the junior show.

You can see my book here. I'll have photos of each page later so you can see everything. it was fun to see people looking at my stuff.

This was one of the senior projects where she had viewers paint words to complete the phrase "I am...". I wrote "an artist" in blue on top of the "I".

The above photos are some work of some of my classmates.

Overall, it was a lot of fun, even though it was a lot of work to put everything together. It's actually my first experience in a real art show so it was exciting for me. I'll have more updates on Etsy and everything in the future once I get my new laptop. :)
