Halloween Costume Ideas

Here are some fun costume ideas for Halloween.

Grayscale

To go grayscale (look like you're in a black and white film), try to go for shades of gray instead of direct black and white. This gray dress from J Crew (#1) would be perfect. Add a gray purse (#2) and some gray or black shoes (#3). For a makeup base, use Aquacolor Wet Makeup in color 32B. Use black hair dye (#4) to make your hair black. Read more about going grayscale here.

Clown

For a clown costume, wear a fun polka dot dress like this one from Mod Cloth (#1). If it's multicolored, that's perfect. Try to find bright colors. Use bright leggings like these red ones (#2) or multicolored leggings like these. Tie red ribbon to your shoes (#4) to make them feel clown like. To finish off, use face paint to paint a clown face and add a clown nose.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

To be a chocolate chip cookie, wear a tan dress with dark brown polka dots like this one. Cut off the shoulder on one side with wavy lines to make it look like a bite mark.Add brown or polka dot leggings like these from Happy Socks and brown shoes. For accessories, you can find a cookie necklace like this polymer clay one from PeachesandPebbles on Etsy. Carry a cookie themed tote bag like this one from Cafe Press.

Skeleton

For a skeleton costume, wear a skeleton dress like this Bodycon one (#1). If you don't want to do a full dress, you can add skeleton leggings (#5) and fingerless gloves (#2) and wear a black and white dress. Wear black shoes or skeleton shoes like these Funtasma ones (#3). Skeleton earrings from Urban Outfitters give this costume a final touch.

What are you going to be for Halloween?

Found Myself Art Website

I found an art website called Found Myself that lets you sell your artwork without any fees. I've been wanting to sell some paintings so I decide to start a page. You can see it here.

Found Myself has some nice features like art events, tools and message boards. There are no ads. You can have people sign up for your newsletter. They also have an option where you can buy your own art website with domain, blog and email.

You can see more of my artwork on my Flickr. Right now, I'm just selling oil paintings I've done, but I might want to sell more or make art prints in the future.

Have you ever sold your artwork?

Flavors.me Website Review

This is a website review on the website Flavors.me. Flavors.Me lets you create a portal to your sites on various social networks and personal content on the internet.

I made a business account to promote Move the Needle's accounts here. The URL is http://flavors.me/movetheneedle so it's pretty short and easy to remember. Once you sign up, you can connect a variety of social media sites including Blogger, Etsy, Twitter and more. When you click a link, it shows your most recent updates from that social media or blog account right on your page. With a free account, you can only have 5 links. You can upgrade to get more links or your own domain.

I think it's a great idea for a site and it has a cute layout. If you have a lot of social networks, it's good to have a website that puts them all in one place. I don't know if it would be better than having your own website because I like that you can design a website all yourself, but I think it's a nice idea. It's good for people who want a website or domain with all their links, but don't want to build a whole website themselves.

Another similar site is qlip.me. I haven't really played around with it a lot, but it's similar to Flavors.me and lets you try it out for free.

Have you ever used Flavors.me or similar sites?

This Map Table upcycles an old table using a map.

Birthday Wishlist

My birthday is coming up this week. These are some items on my wishlist this year:

These are some beauty products I want. In order: This facial brush from 100 Percent Pure gently cleanses your skin. I've been wanting to try out Benefit's It's Potent Eye Cream. I like this Butter London Nail Polish in The Old Bill, but it's kind of expensive so it'd be nice to get as a gift. I have a bunch of different colored eye liners from Korres, but I don't have the white eyeliner.

I need a new yoga mat and I like this one from YogaRat because it has an image of a wave on it.

I would like a subscription to Vegan Cuts which sends you vegan samples, either of food or beauty, every month in the mail. It's a good way to discover new vegan brands.

This Bungalow360 wallet has hippos on it. I got the purse with this same fabric last year for my birthday (left) so the wallet would match.

What items are on your wishlist?

Check back on Friday (my birthday) for a giveaway!
