Flower Photography and Sculpture

Spring is starting to bloom. Here are some photos I recently took of flowers:







I also made this ladybug and leaf sculpture for one of my Sculpture classes. It's spring related (though not really on purpose) The assignment of the project was to take an item and transform it. The ladybugs are made out of an old toy I had. The leaves are cut out of wood. I then put decorative paper, felt and string over them.

Easter

Happy Easter! Since it's also the Year of the Rabbit in the Chinese zodiac, I thought I'd do a post of bunnies.

Earth Day

I sold an item! I sold the Success and Happiness Vintage Greeting Card.



I made this card with a page I found in a vintage magazine. It's actually kind of fitting it sold today because today is Earth Day, a holiday meant to show appreciation for the Earth's natural environment, and this card is an upcycled item. I have all my upcycled items in this section in my shop. Here are some other upcycled items I have listed:

Record Store Day

Last Saturday was Record Store Day. Record Store Day is the third Saturday of April each year and it celebrates independently owned record stores. Many artists offer special vinyl and CD releases on the day. Here are some music themed items in my shop.

I picked up a Sunny Day Real Estate record (LP2) at a local record store. I couldn't find a lot of the exclusive stuff artists were putting out for Record Store Day, but I saw that album and thought it'd be a good one to get on vinyl. I don't usually buy records, but I thought it'd be nice to do for Record Store Day.



I also went vintage shopping that day which was fun because I picked up a bunch of old items that I'm going to paint in an oil painting. Did you participate in Record Store Day?

Easter and Springtime

Autism Awareness Month

April is Autism Awareness Month and yesterday was World Autism Awareness Day. My brother, Teddy, has autism so it's an important cause for me. I have a few items in my shop that use the autism awareness puzzle fabric. I'm also a member of the Etsy for Autism team. If you purchase an autism themed item in my shop, 25% of your payment will be donated to KindTree, a group that promotes artists with autism.
