New Cards and Features

I got some new cards up. This is a sort of old card I meant to list in winter for the winter holidays, but I figured I'd just put it up now so I have it up:

Let it Snow Greeting Card

I also got this octopus card up that uses the same paper as this journal:

Octopus Rounded Greeting Card

I got featured in this EtsyU team blog here. It's a blog that features member interviews from EtsyU, a team that has people on Etsy who are also in college. I was excited they wanted to interview me. I love hearing about other students in college that are balancing their craft with their schoolwork.

I was also featured in two treasuries. This one has natuical items and featured the octopus card I just listed:

Nautical Theme Treasury

This treasury has items from the Etsy for Autism team because April is Autism Awareness Month:

Mini Journal and Wallet

I got this mini journal up that uses a blue and white fabric I bought in an Etsy shop. It's the same fabric as the one I used here, but different colors:

Blue and White Belle Mini Journal

I have this same fabric on my wallet. I picked out the fabric and had my mom make it for me:

Blue and White Belle Wallet

Blue and White Belle Wallet

What would you think if I added items like wallets and bags in my shop? I might make a shop for my mom that sells that kind of stuff (I would design the items and she would sew them), but I thought of testing it on my shop first (because I already have people who look at my shop) to see what people think.

I just added a bunch of photos to my Queue in Tumblr. Stuff will be automatically posted every day for the next few months. If you're on Tumblr, feel free to follow me. :)

Updates and New Items

I got these new cards up. They're both birthday greeting cards:

Best Wishes Red Birthday Greeting Card

This one uses vintage paper on top of red paper.

Zebra Print Birthday Card

I used zebra print fabric to cover this card and cut a wavy border. It says "Happy Birthday!" on the inside.

I also got this journal up. It's kind of similar to another mini journal I made. It uses gold thread that matches the blue and gold marbled paper. I bought this paper in Venice, Italy while I was traveling there.

Mini Blue and Gold Marbled Journal

I'm almost done with spring break. I can't believe it's Friday already. I only have a month left of school after that. I can't believe I'll be a senior in college next year. I'm trying to get an internship this summer and already I got a few interviews. I applied for this place called the Center for Book Arts in New York which is focused on bookbinding. Even if I don't intern there, they have a lot of interesting classes and I might want to try one.

New and Relisted Journals

I got some new journals up. I feel like it's been a while since I've listed new journals:

Little Rounded Yellow Polka Dot Journal

I love the decorative paper for this one. I decided to make the edges rounded which makes it different from some of my other journals. It has gold crinkled paper on the inside.

Vintage Girl Coptic Bound Book

This uses vintage paper from an old issue of Life magazine. I love looking through vintage items and finding stuff to use in new items.

I also got these journals relisted which were offline for a while:

Remember Italy Mini Sketchbook

This book uses a paper with photos from Italy. I love Italy so I was excited to find this paper. It uses thin sketch paper on the inside that is good for pencil sketches.

Red and Gold Marbled Journal

The size of this journal is a little bigger than my other books. It's about the size of a full sheet of computer paper so it could be good for art related entries or sketches.

Blue Marbled Coptic Bound Sketchbook

This journal is one of my favorites because it uses a decorative paper I love. I want to learn how to marble my own paper and think I might try to learn this summer.

I'm on spring break now. I got some fabric in the mail that I ordered from Etsy. Some of it is Japanese and food related. I can't wait to find uses for it.

New Cards and Sample Packs

I got these new cards up:

Alphabet Baby Rounded Greeting Card

This uses an alphabet decorative paper I found. It says "Congratulations on the baby!" on the front. I wanted to do something children themed with the alphabet paper.

Book Lover's Greeting Card

I made a bunch of book related items with this paper. I noticed I never got this one up. It's similar to this one that I sold.

Favorite Teacher Map Greeting Card

This card is great for Teacher's Appreciation Day (May 4th). It's made with vintage paper I cut out. I loved the old fashion look of the girl with the globe.

Tomato Lovers Wavy Greeting Card

I made this to put in a grocery shop that sells crafts called the Market House. Since I'm no longer putting items in there, I decided to list it online. It's a simple card with tomato decorative paper.

I'm going to be listing more cards (and journals) soon. I updated my Etsy profile a little bit. I was reading an article in The Storque and noticed I hadn't really updated my profile in a while. What kind of info do you put in your profile? I was thinking of writing more, like how I got started, but I also like to keep it simple and easy to read.

I'm flying home for spring break today. It'll be nice to have a break from school. I was up for hours last night making these small versions of greeting cards to send to Vegan Samples. I'll have photos and more info on that soon, such as when they'll be available to buy.

I made a St. Patrick's Day section in my shop celebrating green items. Here's some of my green colored items:

Tree of Life Box

This Little Piggy Bank

Tree of Life Journal

Vacation Bird Wavy Greeting Card

All these items are also great for the start of springtime. Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Tumblr Entries

I've been trying to add a new item to my shop every day. I'll post about them and more updates in my shop in another entry. I thought I'd share some items I've put on my Tumblr recently. I use my Tumblr to post items on Etsy, or other things, that inspire me:

You can submit an item for me to post on my Tumblr here or just send me a convo on Etsy/comment on my blog if you don't have a Tumblr account. If you want your own item featured, it could help promote your shop. I only have about 20 followers now, but I think that's doing pretty well because I haven't been promoting my Tumblr a lot and I'm really doing it just for fun. I've also been updating my Flickr recently with photos I've taken and things for my 365 project. What sites do you look at for inspiration?

Easter Cards, Pi Day and Poll

I made some Easter cards. It's my first year making them and I like how they turned out. I made two cards with hand drawn bunnies and one with a basket of eggs cut with different decorative paper. They were fun to make. I'll probably put them in an Easter section in my shop in the next few days.

Today is Pi Day! I got this Pi Day card up I forgot to mention in my last entry:

Pink Number Pi Day Greeting Card

In my last entry, most people said they liked spiral bound journals to other types of journals. I have one spiral bound journal here that's altered. I bought book rings because I wanted to try making a spiral bound journal from scratch. I have no idea how to use them though and can't figure out how to pen them. Maybe I'll figure it out one day. I added this poll on my Facebook page too so I can see what other people think.

40th Sale and Market House

Yay, I made my 40th sale! This was actually a custom order. The buyer liked my Newspaper Altered 2010 Moleskine Planner, but wanted with a black elastic band that the Moleskine usually comes with (I took it off for the one I listed). I had to figure out how to work the decorative paper around it, but it was fun to make. This is how it turned out:

Moleskine journals are fun to make and a little easier than regular journals because you don't have to bookbind them. What do you like best - closed bound journals (where the side is covered with fabric or paper), open stitched journals (where you can see the stitching on the side), mini journals, altered moleskines or recycled journals? I might make a poll like this in my Facebook or on the side of this blog.

I had some items in a shop called the Market House in my college town. I put them in there because I volunteered there last semester and went down there every week. I decided to take them out though and will get them listed (or hopefully used in other shops or craft shows in the future). I got these up sofar:

Crayon Hearts Thank You Greeting Card

Leopard Print Journal

Tree of Life Journal

I'm going to relist these items gradually. Looking out for those and new Easter items in my shop,

Pi Day

Pi Day is coming up on March 14th. It is supposed to represent the number Pi that starts 3.14. I was never a math person, but I love making math themed cards and books. I made a Pi Day section in my shop here with these items:

Pi Day Greeting Card

I made this last year and it sold at a craft show, but I still have it listed as made to order. I found this number stamp and really wanted to use it. I thought it would be perfect for Pi Day.

Pi Chart Greeting Card and Pi Chart Greeting Card (Version II)

These cards use a pie chart with different decorative paper.

Pi Day Math Script Collage Card

I used a math script paper on this card and collaged it.

Mini Math Journal

I used the same paper here, but it's a little math book. It's a mini book so it seems like a good journal for jotting down notes or math equations.

These items would also be good for any math lovers. Happy Pi Day!

Photos: 365 and Snow

I thought I'd do a sort of non Etsy related entry with some photos I've taken recently. As I've posted before, I'm doing a 365 project where I'm taking a photo of food I've eaten every day for a year. Here's some recent photos from the project. You can see all of them here. Feel free to recommend me any recipes.
