Olympic Treasury & New Items

I listed this journal. I made two of these journals and one I'm using as my personal journal right now. I really like the colors of it. I got the fabric on this Etsy shop.

Yellow and Blue Belle Journal

I got a treasury for the items I talked about in my last entry. It's been a while since I made a treasury. I had to wait like 2 days to be there at the right time to get one. It's about the Olympics and you can see/comment on it here. Here's a screen cap:

I also made a treasury two years ago of the summer Olympics (I can't believe it's been 2 years!). Here's a screen cap:

I was going to apply to be an intern at Etsy, but now it says "on hold (which probably means it's closed). It's not a big deal since there's a lot of other places I'm applying, but I found out it was closed right after I finished writing a cover letter for it.

There are more new items are coming in my shop soon. I made some new journals and a couple Easter cards today. I never made Easter cards before so this will be my first year having them. I'm trying to have greeting cards for every occasion. I still want to make some for Mother's Day, Passover and unusual holidays like Teacher Appreciation Day. I kind of got out of the habit of listing each day, but I'm going to try to list more.

Olympic Items

With the Olympics going on, I thought I'd feature Olympic themed items. I'm trying to get a treasury to showcase these items, but I figured I'd put them on my blog too.

Penguin Power Bobsleigh Team - Felt Sculpture

Crocheted Ice Skates Baby Booties

Golden Ice Skates Necklace

Team Canada Cufflinks Maple Leaf Vancouver BC 2010 Olympic Winter Games

Vancouver 2010 Locket Necklace

Vancouver, Canada Giclee Print Olympics 2010 Host

Vancouver BC Checkbook Cover

Olympics 14K Gold Filled Necklace

Do you watch the Olympics? What's your favorite sport? I love figure skating and I've been watching mostly that. I'm also taking a figure skating class right now which is fun to have it at the same time. I don't really watch sports a lot so recommend me some events.

New Items and Updates

I've been really busy with school and keep forgetting to blog. I have this art project in class that I've been putting a lot of time in so I haven't had time to craft recently. I've also been applying for internships (some are craft/bookbinding related). Let me know if you know about any art related internships. Here's some items I listed in the last week:

Altered Octopus Spiral Journal

This is made with an old spiral journal I've had for a while, but never used. It's covered with a cute decorative paper with octopi.

Tan Script Collage Greeting Card

This is a card I made with collaged script paper. It's for any occasion.

Turquoise and Gold Collage Greeting Card

I listed this card this morning. It also uses a collage technique with decorative paper and is blank on the inside. Somebody at a craft show said I should make more blank cards on the inside so they can be used for a variety of occasions. What do you think? Would you rather see any occasion or specific occasion greeting cards?

I'm getting a custom order for a 2010 planner. It looks like one I already made, but the person wanted an elastic band around the Moleskine. I'm excited about that because I haven't made a sale since December. Even though they're more work, I like doing custom orders.

Giveaway Winner and New Items!

My giveaway ended yesterday. And the winner is... LisbonSky! Congrats! I sent you a convo about your prize.

There were 22 entries. I used random.org to generate a number and it was number 3. The prize was any card from my Valentine's Day section. To enter, you had to heart an item from my shop and you could get multiple entries for doing various other things. I think I didn't get a huge turnout (last time I had over 100 entries) because the prize was pretty small. I think giveaways are fun though and will do more in the future. Thanks to everyone who entered.

I made this birthday card out of an old page in a children's book and listed it last week:

Balloons Birthday Card

A bunch of my boxes got featured in this gallery on Flickr.com. I was really happy that someone got inspired by my boxes and made a gallery out of them. I've only sold two boxes before, but I should probably make some more. I was just looking at my boxes and noticed I haven't made one in a really long time.

Here's some in the process photos of new items I've been working on. I was playing around with collaging in cards:

I'm going to try to list new items soon. Look out for those. Which type of item (journal, greeting card, box, etc.) would you most like to see?

World Nutella Day

Happy World Nutella Day! Nutella is a brand of chocolate hazelnut spread. You can put it anything, like bread or fruit, but it's also really good on it's own. I had it while I was in Italy and got sort of addicted. I made this Nutella pizza and thought I'd share the recipe. It's really easy so you should try it!

You need:
Nutella (or any chocolate hazelnut spread)
Premade pizza dough
Powdered sugar
Bananas (or other toppings, these are optional)
Olive oil or butter

1. Get a premade pizza dough and bake it until it is cooked (usually there's directions on the bag). I usually cook mine for 15 minutes at 450 degrees. Take it out of thee oven and while it's still warm, spread it with the Nutella or chocolate hazelnut spread.

2. Chop a banana and add it on top of the Nutella. Return it to the oven for a few minutes just to warm it up.

Nutella Banana Pizza (Step 2)

3. Sprinkle the pizza with powdered sugar or any toppings you want. Enjoy! It's best while still warm.

Remember, there's still a few days to enter mygiveaway and win a free greeting card.

More Valentine's Day Cards

If you're looking for the giveaway where you can win one of these cards, click here or scroll down for details on my Valentine's giveaway. I got all my Valentine's Day cards for this year up. I had a bunch of love/anniversary related card, but I made a lot of Valentine's Day specific ones this year. These are the new ones I got up:

Balloon Heart Valentine's Day Greeting Card

I got the idea for this card from a heart shaped balloon I drew in my journal. I decided to make the same idea out of decorative paper and string. I actually made two cards like this (one with a pink string), but I forget to take photos of that one and left it at home. I'll get that one up sometime though too, but probably have it so it's just blank instead of being just for Valentine's Day.

Vintage Rose Greeting Card

This is another card where I used flowers I found from a vintage card. This has a quote on it from a vintage card that's kind of old fashioned and cheesy, but I kind of like that about it.

I'm sending this card for Etsy's Special Delivery event where they are giving cards as part of a charity program:

I'm also sending this Valentine's card to my brother:
